Look How Far You've Come!
A1 Review — six months later, Maya reflects on her English journey. All A1 grammar and communication consolidated in one celebration lesson.
📖 Reading: Six Months Later
Six months ago, Maya arrived in Toronto. She was nervous and a little lonely. Her English was basic.
Now, everything is different. She has new friends: Leo, Omar, Jess, and Priya. She knows her neighbourhood well.
She can give directions to tourists. She can order at restaurants. She can talk about her job, her family, and her hobbies. She was at Niagara Falls last weekend!
"My English is better now," she tells her mother on the phone. "I was so scared before. But now I enjoy talking to people."
"I am so proud of you, Maya," says her mother. "You work so hard."
Leo knocks on the door. "Maya! Our English class starts in ten minutes. Are you ready?"
"Always!" she says. She grabs her notebook — the same blue notebook she bought at the market in Lesson 11.
"Let's go," she says with a smile. "I still have so much to learn!"

🎭 Dialogue: The End of A1 — And the Beginning of A2!
Leo and Maya reflect on Maya's first six months in Toronto and her English progress — and look ahead to A2.
Maya, do you remember our first conversation six months ago?
Of course! You said: "Hi Maya! I am Leo. Nice to meet you!"
And now look at you! You can talk about everything in English.
Well… almost everything! There is still so much to learn.
That's the spirit! What was the most useful thing you learned?
Hmm. Maybe talking about feelings and health. Or shopping!
For me, it was the restaurant lesson. I used it last week!
Ha! Of course you did. Ready for A2?
